Harvest House offers a multitude of services beyond psychological and physical recovery.

O ver 57% of Rwandan women are the victims of gender based violence in their families, according to a study conducted by the Rwandan Focus, released on 7/9/2011. Research, conducted countrywide by the Rwanda Men’s Resource Centre (RWAMREC), also shows that 39% of men acknowledge physical and/or sexual abuse against their wives. The shelters are designed as a place of refuge for victims of gender based sexual and family violence. They offer a suitable place to live, to learn about and heal from gender based violence and a place of rehabilitation before reinserting into society. Through programs specifically designed for GBV victims, our primary goals are to; educate the victims about their legal rights and how to identify signs of gender based violence, heal from the trauma and prepare themselves to resume an active and productive life.
